1st Snow and Pumpkins

The first snow finally came and the kids were so excited to play in it. Cody went out and helped them build this little snowman. The kids love the snow and have a blast being cold that is just not my cup of tea.

Yesterday we decided to carve pumpkins with the kids. Sayd and Gav enjoyed digging out the guts and making a mess with them.

Sayd's pumpkin was so thick it was hard for Cody or I to get our hand in it.
Gavin playing with the guts and making funny faces.

Gavin loved being able to play with knives, I am glad they really aren't that sharp. He stuck every knife we had out into the top of his pumpkin.
Gav tasted the pumpkin and said he liked it so Saydee had to try it too.
The finished product.
We kept trying to get Gav to smile and not close his eyes but I guess it was hard for him. I think they turned out pretty good this year.

Bambi Killers

This year Cody and I both drew out for the deer hunt. The opening weekend we went up Kimberly it was us and Victor. We saw lots of deer including quite a few little 2 points. Also we saw some elk and heard them calling, it was pretty cool. By the 2nd day we hadn't seen anything we wanted to shoot, Cody was going to have me shoot a rock and out walked this little 3 point. I was the only one with a gun so I dropped it with one shot. Poor little Bambi it didn't even know we were there.

Back in Fillmore out road hunting with the kids. They have to go everywhere with their Daddy.

We agreed that the next buck we saw we would shoot and not be greedy about it. We didn't want to go without filling our tags. So right before dark up above Holden I spotted some deer but couldn't tell what they were because I am blind. Cody looked through the bino's and saw this little buck and what happened next I bet you can guess. He dropped it with one shot and he had to go get it and clean it in the dark. This little guy is actually bigger then my barely three point.
Gavin thought it was so cool that we got to take it home with us. He had to keep checking to see if it was still in the back of the truck. This year we cut our deer up ourselves to save money. We are excited that we have so many steaks and a ton of jerky.
I just wanted to put this picture in because it was so cute. Thanks Everyone for helping with the kids while we hunted it was a big help love you guys.

Kimberly 4-wheeling Ride

So on Sunday we decided to ride up Kimberly to see where we are going to put the trailer next weekend for the hunt. We took the 4-wheelers to see how far we would have to ride up in the freezing cold to get to the top where we will be hunting.

We got the kids all bundled up with 4 layers of clothes and went on our way.
When we got to the top we took a break. There was a really chilly wind I hope it's not there next weekend. Hopefully we will find something when the hunt starts.
Getting the kids all loaded up on M&M's so we could ride on.
On our way back down Cody spotted a blow snake on the road and stopped to catch it.
It was a pretty big one just look at how long it is.
The kids loved it I had a picture of Sayd with it too but it didn't load. I let it wrap around my hand and it could squeeze hard enough to hurt my hand. When we were done looking at it and letting the kids play with it we let it go on it's way.

The Kids Playing the Wii

So recently I got a job and the kids go to Daycare for a few hours until Cody gets off work. At Daycare they got to play Wii bowling and loved it so we decided to get ours out for them to play. I just thought that Gav was to small because he is only 3 but he can really do it by himself. He has even bowled a few STRIKES unlike me.

Headed for a STRIKE. Good job Saydee Bug.
Sayd is really competitive and tries to win every time. She bowls strikes a lot I can't even get a strike.
Cody gets into it also its pretty funny watching him and Sayd pull faces at each other.
I left the computer for one minute to find the check book so I could do the bills and walked in on Gavin looking at the blog. The kids are pretty funny they always ask mom when are you going to update the blog. Sayd even tells me that the pictures I have up that are only from a week ago are old she acts like she is 12.
