Bountiful Baskets

So on Saturday I went and did this thing called Bountiful Baskets you sign up and pay online then you show up where ever you signed up for and get a laundry basket full of fresh produce. The sign up fee is $3 and it's a one time fee then you can get however many baskets you want for $16 per basket. Once you buy one basket you can get other things to go with it like a Mexican pack, sometimes a Asian pack, granola, bread and tortillas. So here is what we got this time and it varies what you get from time to time.

Fruit

12 bananas

11 blood oranges

2 pks blueberries

1 pk strawberries

6 pears

8 apples

Veggies

1 head cabbage

1 head leaf lettuce

1 bundle spinach

3 bundles asparagus

8 zucchini

6 cucumbers

I think I got everything then my Mom, Dad and I also got Mexican packs for $6.50 They included 4 avocados, 4 peppers, 2 zucchini, dried chili peppers, fresh herbs, garlic, 1 onion, and 6 key limes.

So I thought it would be pretty cool to see how much I would of spent if I went to my regular grocery store so here it is.

bananas $.69 lb= 1.73

blood oranges $1.69lb=8.45

blueberries $6

strawberries $3.99 pk

pears $1.69lb=5.91

apples $1.39lb=6.95

Veggies

cabbage .69lb=1.38

Leaf lettuce $1.99

asparagus $11.97

zucchini $4.00

cucumbers $3.00

So in total you would spent 57.36 plus tax 3.59 = 60.95 for the same food which is fresher because it comes straight from the dock and you get it for $16 what a great deal.
