Coming Soon

As soon as I can figure out what my computer is doing I am going to put a copy of Cody's FIGHT on here. So far the computer isn't even recognizing that there is a disk in. I think the DVD drive has gone out. Hopefully by this weekend it will be up and running so everyone can see it.

~~CARVING DAY~~

Today we decided to carve the kids pumpkins. At first the kids were eager to poke anything with their little carving knifes but Gavin soon lost interest. He went off and hid in the front room. Cody helped Saydee with hers of course she is a daddy's girl. I did Gavins he wouldn't really help at all but maybe next year. The kids picked what stencils they wanted us to use and the finished products were pretty cute. When Gavin's was done you couldn't get him to leave it alone he absolutely loved it he was hugging and kissing it. Saydee loved hers to and they wanted to put them right outside so everyone could see them. I also added a picture of our Halloween cat sitting by the pumpkins this is where she sleeps. Meika the other cat wont let her in their little house so she is forced to sleep out in the cold.

A Pile Of Leaves Can Be So Much Fun

So it took me 30 minutes to rake this enormous pile of leave just for the kids to destroy it. I think this is the most fun they have had in a long time. They played in these leaves for probably over an hour. As the pile would spread out I would just rake the edges back in and away they went jumping, rolling, kicking, diving, and everything else you can think of. It was fun seeing them having so much fun. KIDS what a joy.

A Visit To Gramzo's

We had family pictures last night and when we were done we went up to visit Cody's Grandma and Ross. Saydee loves to get there playing cards out and match them up by number.

Gavin was being the terror he is and didn't want to give Grandma a hug what a little brat boy.

Saydee still playing cards and picking up the ones that Gavin had spread out all over the floor.

Grandma helping Saydee with her game. The kids love to play with Gramzo and Ross even though Gavin puts up a front and won't go to them at first he is just being silly.

Gavin wanted to build a house with the cards so Cody got down and was standing the cards up against each other to make him a house. Gavin just loved it building them and knocking them over. He is your typical boy he gets into so much trouble and he is only two. I wonder what we are in for in the years to come with him.

Demolition of The Pumpkin Bag

Saydee had worked so hard to fill up her pumpkin bag with leaves and this is what Gavin did. When Saydee and I were getting more leaves Gavin saw his chance to destroy everything Saydee had done. She was only mad for a minute and then she decided it was funner to play in the leaves then to put them in a bag. Cody got home and I sent him to get a big rake so we could finish a lot faster. Finally we got that pumpkin bag done but we had to put 2 bandages on it with tape because it got two holes in the process. I forgot to take a picture of it done but I think everyone knows what a pumpkin bag looks like.

My Little 2 Point From Last Year

So Last year Cody and I were so excited we both drew out for the deer hunt but then we found out Cody was going to Iraq. I was really sad because this was my first hunt and I wanted him to be there. We had to turn Cody's tag back in and that is why he drew out this year. I ended up going hunting with my Dad and brother-in-law Brandon. We hiked and hiked all morning on opening day and then 500 yards away my Dad spotted some deer I couldn't even see horns. But when I looked through the scope I thought it was at least a three point. My Dad was yelling shoot it shoot it so I did but to all our surprise when we got over to it it was a massive two point.

I was kind of disappointed that it was a two point but I guess I couldn't complain when we got it back into cedar to the meat place it was bigger then all the other ones there. The funny thing is that I talked to Cody and told him that I got a little two point and sent a picture he was pretty shocked.

Thanks to the help of my Dad and Brandon we got it back to the truck which was two miles away from where I shot it.

This is my first deer and hopefully next year I will get a tag and hopefully out do this one. Cody went out hunting this year and hardly saw a thing. We went out yesterday after he got off work and had no luck and it was the last day. Hopefully next year we will have good luck like Ish. My deer last year was 22in wide at the widest point and the base of the horns was 5in around I don't really know how they measure them. My Dad said that it must have been an old deer with bad genetics. Hunting is a big thing in both Mine and Cody's families. I started going when I was really little and have always enjoyed it and the same with Cody. I am sure when our kids get old enough to go they will be right there with us. Happy Hunting

While Dad Was Hunting

Cody got off work and got ready to go hunting with Ish. Saydee and Gavin were really sad that they couldn't go. Cody told Saydee when he got back that they would start a fire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. But while he was hunting Saydee wanted to wait outside for him to come home so she got in her new coat , hat, gloves, boots, and her feather thing that grandma got her.
Gavin wasn't feeling good and fell asleep early. He got his immunizations and flu shot on Monday and was not a happy little guy.
While we were out side when Gavin was sleeping Saydee wanted to rake leaves and put them in a pumpkin bag. I went to get my rake out of the shed but couldn't find it in the dark and I am scared of spiders so I didn't keep looking. So we were using Saydee's rake and a bucket to get leaves into the pumpkin bag.
At the rate we were going it would take us two days and to make it worse it was dark. Finally I convinced Sayd to work on it after school the next day. Cody got home right around 8 or 8:30 and Sayd was sad because I told her that it was to late to build the fire she wanted because I didn't want to give her a bath at 10 and she would stink like campfire. Cody and Sayd ended up cooking their hot dogs on the grill instead sorry Saydee Bug we will build the fire next time.

---Pumpkin Farm---

As a Family we went out to the Mitchell's farm to get pumpkins and straw to decorate in front of the house. I tried to get the kids to pick out big pumpkins but they only wanted little ones so we ended up with quite a few. Saydee and Gavin wanted to help unload the truck when we got back this is them trying as hard as they could to lift the straw. At first I wanted everything in front of the big window but then we decided to put it up on the porch so that the kids wouldn't tip it over.

The kids helped Cody carry one of the bales of straw what big helpers. Once everything was up on the porch I put a big spiderweb up on all over it. I really

don't think the spiderweb will hold up for very long between the kids and the cats we will see I guess. If anyone is wanting pumpkins the Mitchell's is a great place to go and they are only ten cents a pound great price thank you.

THE TRUCK PROBLEMS

What a sad sight seeing the Ford being pulled away from the house. It had been sitting in the same place for 2 months because the engine had gone out. The bad part is that we had just traded our white truck in and got this one thinking it was a great deal WHATEVER!!! We had only had the truck for 32 days when it went to cramp and the dealership and Ford wouldn't do anything there goes our extra money.
We had no choice but to order a engine for it this is a used but warrantied engine. There was no other choice but to get a new engine or just let the truck sit there while we were making a payment so the choice was to fix it.
Cody and his dad decided to do the work to keep the cost down. This day Cody had taken the whole front end off so they could get the old engine out and the new one in.
I wanted a picture of Cody working on it and with the engine out but I didn't get down there to do it. This little/big project took up all of his free time from the time he got off work until 9 or 10 at night for a week. There are still a few little thing left to do but for the most part it is done and running great. This is going to be our last truck for years and years at least its one we don't mind being stuck with.

~Playing in the COLD~

Playing in the snow the kids just love it I am the baby that wants to get warm. They would stay out there for hours if we would let them. Cody made Gavin and Saydee a snowball. Gavin had fun throwing them at the Nissan and Saydee was a little more sneaky she would throw them at us when we weren't looking. Smile kids before you turn into ice cubes.

***Logs To Go By The Fire Pit***

Yesterday we went for a ride up above Holden in the Nissan looking for deer. Well we only saw about 10 and none of them were bucks what luck. We ended up taking this little road that we had never been on and had no idea where it went. I actually think that it turned into a 4-wheeler road after some point. It was long and bumpy and took us deep into the mountains. On the way up we had passed these logs and I had thought those would work good by the fire pit but I didn't say anything.
Meanwhile we kept driving and squeezing the Nissan through places I don't think it was meant to go but we made it. On the way back down I told Cody that I would love to take those logs home to go by the fire pit. So being the great husband he is he said we can try to get them in. At first we only thought we could get two in but Cody said we could try to get all three.
This is the third and final log he had to slide it on top of the other two but it didn't slide very well. Cody had to turn it and move it to fit and at one point it almost fell out but we got it. I should say he got it because I was out there to help but I wasn't really able to help.
We had to stop a few times on the way down to situate the top log because it kept rolling and almost fell out a couple times. One time all three logs pushed the tailgate partway open and we had to fix that too. We did make it home with all of them and the next thing is to make them into seats to go by the fire pit. I'm glad I have a husband that could lift them into the truck. And was willing to do it just because I wanted them I love you honey thanks.

Snow Ride in the Nissan (the ugly truck)

As a family we love to just take rides and drive around while it is snowing. Today's trip was out by White Mountain on the desert.
The kid in Cody came out he spun a 8 in the snow the kids were both screaming in the back. Saydee thought we were going to crash and Gavin was going along with her.
The kids wanted to get out and play in the snow. It looked like there was a lot more then there really was because of the sand.
We were all freezing cold and the kids wanted to get back in the truck. So much for playing in the snow that lasted about 5 minutes.

Fillmore's First Snow of the Year

On the news Saydee heard it was going to snow so from the minute she woke up she wanted to go play in it even though there wasn't any at the time. This is the kids getting ready to go out and play while it was snowing.
When we got outside Saydee said oh dang it already melted. It was snowing just a little and as the day went on it snowed a little harder but most of it melted.
We had to fight Gavin to come in the house he just wanted to kick the snow that was on the ground. He was complaining that it was cold but you couldn't convince him to come in.
Cody was trying to get him to throw this snowball but he was just worried about how cold it was in his hand. He just dropped it on the ground and looked at it like what is that. Hopefully we get enough snow by the end of this storm to build a snowman.

Drying Apples Yummy

We have a apple tree out back that has great apples so I decided to dry some. I had Cody go out and pick me some there was 2 1/2 grocery bags approximately 60 small to medium size apples. I had to wash, core, and slice them then put them in a mixture of pineapple and water so they wouldn't go brown.
Gavin helped me after I sliced them he would pick them up and throw them into the pineapple mixture by the end we were both sticky. Thanks for the help buddy.
After slicing them I had to put them on the trays 1/2 of them I sprinkled Cinnamon and sugar on and the others I left plain. By the end I had done 3 batches and I actually had to go and pick more apples. I ended up doing 94 apples, and 36 trays in total and it took me 3 days because they had to dry over night but the end result is a delicious snack.
